6/16/2008Bailey had her first birthday last Saturday. We all got together at Karen's house to celebrate all the June birthdays. (Since there are plenty of them)

6/4/2008It was my birthday the other day. So I got myself an iPod touch. (Thanks Amber)
I probably wouldn't have gone out and got it, but that same day we got our "Economic Stimulus" check from the IRS. Thanks George. :)
Peyton got a new bike, too.
When I told her to thank George Bush, I do think she got it. I also don't think the Cashier at Wal Mart thought it was funny either. 5/1/2008
A while back I built a new computer for home use. I've been testing a lot of different servers and configurations using VMWare. I was running five Virtual Machines at once so I decided to take a look at the Task Manager to see what kind of utilization I was getting.
I'd say I'm getting my money's worth on this...
:) 4/26/2008Peyton and Bailey have to have surgery on Monday to have tubes installed in their ear drums. For Peyton this is the third time. Although Peyton hasn't had nearly as much trouble with ear infections as she has had in the past, she still suffers from having a lot of fluid in her ears. Bailey has had quite a few ear infections lately and has had trouble getting over them. We're of course a little nervous about it, but this doctor has done surgery on Peyton before and seems to be a good guy.
1/31/2008I am way excited about this:
12/19/2007Bailey started eating cereal for the first time today. Amber had some fun trying to get her to eat it.

I enjoy documenting all the "firsts" that I am experiencing since I move to Nebraska. A few weekends ago we had an ice storm. Since I park my truck in the driveway I ended up with 3/8" of ice on the driver's side of the truck. I had to get in from the passenger side to start it up to warm it up. Even once I got the driver's door open, when I rolled down the window the ice stayed like a window of its own. I had to push it out.

The ground looks like it's just wet. Well it actually very slippery ice… 8/24/2007
A friend of ours had a birthday party with a pony ride. She really had a lot of fun. At first she was kind of scared of the horses, but she came around.
You can see all the pictures in the Peyton's picture library. 8/3/2007
I bought a new computer, it's really cool. Since Amber doesn't work anymore we were short a computer (Peyton needs her own, you know). So, as per usual, I bought myself a new computer and all the other were rotated around. :)
First of all it kicks serious butt playing Half-Life 2 and Counter Strike. But the coolest thing for me is being able to run three Virtual PC Machines at once. I do a lot of testing of different software and Virtual Machines are the best way to go. With 8 GB of RAM I can run a lot of machines without killing my computer.
The specs (yes, I'm bragging)
- ABIT QuadGT Motherboard
- Intel Quad Core 2.4 GHz CPU
- 8 GB of RAM
- Radeon 1950 Video Card
- Vista Ultimate 64-bit

7/10/2007I have been uploading the pictures to the Albums section of this site. As I was looking back at some of the pictures I saw two things that I miss.
- The Snow
Right now it's fairly hot here in Omaha; not quite "Africa Hot", as we call it, but still hot. As I looked at those pictures of the snow it made me long for the winter; this probably because I don't hate the winter yet. Living in California I got plenty of hot, not enough cold.
- My Toyota Matrix
When we first moved here we traded in the Camry for a Tacoma 4x4. It really came in handy when we got snowed into our neighborhood late last winter. (Although I still managed to get stuck in a snow drift) It seemed sensible. However, a short time after that we found out that Amber was pregnant. As the time came closer for Bailey to arrive we decided that we needed a more practical vehicle. So I traded in my beloved Matrix XRS for a Toyota Sienna. Don't get me wrong, I love the Sienna, it's got a lot of nice stuff in it, but it doesn't have 6 gears and doesn't redline at 8200 RPM.
Anyway, I have finished uploading all the pictures from the old site and I am working on getting new ones to put up.
